Am I guaranteed a place on the programme of my choice?
This would depend on your academic and extracurricular achievements and the institution’s requirements, as well as the level of competition for your cohort. If you are unable to get accepted on your preferred programme, we may be able to help you secure a place on a different course/university, or assist you with the pre-university requirements to be accepted.
How many years does it take to study abroad?
It depends on the course of study, type of program and other university specific-factors. Generally however, undergraduate study takes 3 to 5 years while post-graduates studies take 1 to 2 years.
How much does it cost to live in the UK as a student?
Living costs in the UK differ based on which city you live in, with the cost of rent in London exceeding that of other cities. According to Save the Student, total living costs for students average £700 a month excluding university tuition fees, but this will vary depending on the region.
Do I need a student visa to study abroad?
Yes. Visa application is necessary. You can start this process as soon as you get your admission letter showing the proof of your resumption at a later date.
How long does the application process take?
We recommend you begin your application process at least a year in advance to give enough time for your applications to be processed and to prepare for your time overseas.
Can I work during my studies abroad?
This will depend on whether or not your student visa allows you to work. In some countries there are restrictions on the amount of paid work you can undertake during your studies. Often there’s a limit of 20 hours’ paid work per week during term time, with full-time work permitted during holidays.
Does it cost money to see a counsellor at Unilink?
Our services are free for students. There is no cost to students to book an appointment with any of unlink counsellors.
